Surgical services Q&A

Gynecologic surgical services can be improve lifestyle and also provide life saving care. Our physicians proudly preform the following procedures:

NovaSure Ablation

A Novasure Ablation is the an option for those with heavy vaginal bleeding. This procedure allow our physicians to burn the lining of the uterus to ensure heavy bleeding will decrease or stop all together. This is not an option for those who are planning future pregnancy.

Hysteroscopy D&C

This is a procedure where a thin, lighted tube called a hysteroscope is inserted into the uterus through the cervix. The hysteroscope allows our skilled doctors to view the inside of the uterus on a monitor. Hysteroscopy can be done for diagnostic purposes to investigate abnormal bleeding, pelvic pain, or infertility. It can also be used therapeutically to remove uterine polyps, fibroids, adhesions, or to perform sterilization procedures like tubal occlusion.

Hysterectomy

A hysterectomy is the most permanent treatment option. Depending on the type of hysterectomy, other reproductive organs such as the cervix, ovaries, and fallopian tubes may also be removed. We offer multiple types of hysterectomy options:

  • Laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy
  • Total laparoscopic hysterectomy
  • Radical hysterectomy
  • Abdominal hysterectomy

Hymenectomy

Our skilled physicians have worked with many teenagers throughout the years to correct congenital conditions of the hymen.  This procedure is typically done for medical reasons, such as to alleviate pain or discomfort caused by an imperforate hymen (a hymen that completely covers the vaginal opening) or to enable menstrual flow in cases of a microperforate hymen (a hymen with a very small opening).

Ovarian Cystectomy

While many ovarian cysts are harmless and resolve on their own, some may cause symptoms such as pelvic pain, bloating, or difficulty with bowel or bladder function. In cases where cysts are large, persistent, or causing significant symptoms, a cystectomy may be recommended. Our trained doctors will help discuss best treatment options.
