A trip to the gynecologist can be nerve wracking for some people. But, having the right doctor can make a big difference and make you feel at ease. So, how do you find the right gynecologist for you? First, ask for recommendations from friends, family, and even your general physician. Then, decide if you want a male or female doctor, or if either is fine. Once you’ve decided, start your research. Look at the doctor’s education and credentials and if their office accepts your insurance.

Once you’ve found a doctor you think you’ll like, it’s time to meet them. When you meet your new doctor, you should feel comfortable in their office and with them. If you feel uncomfortable discussing things freely with them, or if you find your views are compatible, find another doctor. However, if you feel comfortable and can easily speak with them, you may have found the right doctor for you.
